WBO Parents & Players,

Our teams showed incredible heart, resilience, and growth this past weekend at the Bay City Spring Tip-Off. From battling through adversity to pulling off thrilling comebacks, every squad had moments to be proud of.

Here’s a look at the highlights:

  • 4th Grade BlackThis team fought hard all weekend, dropping two heartbreakers by just one point—both on controversial no-calls. But they didn’t let it get them down. Sunday, they came back swinging, closing the weekend with a dominant win. The growth from the beginning of the fall season to now is undeniable, and their competitive fire is stronger than ever.
  • 4th Grade BlueDespite being down 14 with only five players this team fought all the way back to tie the game before falling just short. The best part? No one got discouraged or put their head down. The resilience and determination in this group are exciting signs for the future.
  • 5th Grade BlueA winning weekend overall! They started with a comfortable victory in Game 1, faced a tough loss against a strong opponent in Game 2, and capped it off with an epic comeback in Game 3—rallying from 16 points down at halftime to pull off a thrilling one-point win while being short handed.
  • 5th Grade Black – D2 Bracket ChampionsThis group took home the title, showing great chemistry and proving they’re becoming a true unit. A fantastic accomplishment! Picture below!
  • 6th GradeThey finished 1-2, but the record doesn’t tell the full story. Both losses came in hard-fought battles, including a comeback from 15 down that fell just short. Even in defeat, the team gained valuable experience in pressure moments, with one player even expressing his nerves mid-timeout—only to be reminded that these are the moments they train for. They closed the weekend with a 20-point win, ending on a high note and showing significant progress from the Fall.
  • 7th Grade – A Game for the BooksIn a back-and-forth battle against Bay City, the Ospreys found themselves trailing the entire game—until the final 50 seconds. With relentless effort and determination, they pulled off an unforgettable 31-30 comeback victory, proving that heart and hustle can overcome any challenge.
  • 8th GradeSaturday was a strong showing, with two well-executed games. Sunday was a tougher challenge, as the team got overwhelmed early and struggled to recover. A tough loss, but a valuable learning experience for the squad.
  • HSThe high school squad went 1-2, but they had chances in every game. Cole ran the point effectively, setting the tone for the offense, while Robbie and Rex contributed strong performances. Andoni and Parker kept HS in the game on Sunday offensively. The highlight of the weekend? Cam hitting a game-winning shot in Game 1 sealing a big win. This team should be fun to watch!

Final Thoughts

Across all grade levels, our teams showed heart, toughness, and the ability to battle through adversity. Whether it was 4th grade’s fight through tough losses, 5th grade’s second-half rally, 7th-grade Ospreys’ last-minute comeback, or high school’s competitive performances, this weekend was full of inspiring moments. Every team took steps forward, and we couldn’t be prouder of their effort.
